Les erreurs à éviter en tirant vos joints
Comme le tirage de joints est un projet qui demande beaucoup de minutie et qui n’est pas particulièrement divertissant, vous ne voudrez certainement pas avoir à reprendre votre travail une fois celui-ci complété. Pour éviter d’avoir à recommencer le tirage de vos joints, veillez donc à suivre ces quelques recommandations :
- Effectuez le tirage sur des panneaux stables, faute de quoi des fissures ne tarderont pas à apparaître ;
- Évitez de tirer vos joints dans une pièce soumise au froid, à la pluie ou au vent, car s’ils ne peuvent pas sécher correctement, ils se fissureront ;
- Ne vous contentez pas d’appliquer une seule couche épaisse de composé pour masquer la présence de trous ou d’imperfections, car celle-ci finira par fendiller.

Comment tirer vos joints ?
Plusieurs règles de base doivent être respectées lorsque vous réalisez vos joints, faute de quoi les problèmes se pointeront le bout du nez assez rapidement. Pour tirer vos joints dans les règles de l’art, suivez ces recommandations :
- Respectez un temps de séchage entre 18 et 24 heures entre chaque couche ;
- Protégez adéquatement les surfaces environnantes ;
- Réalisez trois couches pour avoir un résultat de qualité ;
- N’ayez pas la main trop lourde sur le composé à joint ;
- Un composé à joint trop dense est synonyme d’une finition peu soignée, prenez soin de le diluer avec un peu d’eau au besoin.
Qu’en est-il du sablage ? Ne négligez pas de prendre le temps nécessaire lors de cette étape, celle-ci sera déterminante sur le résultat final.
Une fois le travail terminé, vous verrez sans aucun doute une grande quantité de poussière sur le sol de la pièce. Commencez par en ramasser le plus possible à l’aide d’un balai et d’un linge mouillé. Il se peut que vous ayez besoin de répéter cette étape à plusieurs reprises.
