Les différents types d’excavation
Peu importe leur envergure, plusieurs projets débutent par un besoin d'excaver. Voici quelques projets pour lesquels les paramètres à tenir en compte nécessitent un type d'excavation différent:

Combien coûte l'excavation?
Les paramètres à tenir en compte pour votre projet spécifiquement feront varier les coûts à débourser pour l'excavation. Parmi ceux-ci, mentionnons la taille du trou, la quantité de résidus à déplacer, la distance à parcourir, le type de sol, l’équipement nécessaire aux travaux, les obstacles liés à un accès plus restreint ainsi que la période au cours de laquelle le projet sera exécuté. D’ailleurs, vous devez savoir que les méthodes utilisées peuvent différer d’une compagnie à une autre, ce qui peut faire grandement varier les prix.

Saviez-vous que…
Vous devriez toujours vous assurer que l'entrepreneur a souscrit à une assurance pour couvrir les dégâts possibles durant les travaux. Le processus d’excavation, peu importe la nature du projet, peut s’avérer lourd de conséquences si des problèmes surviennent en cours d’exécution.
Les défis des travaux d’excavation
L’étanchéité
Si votre sous-sol est excavé, le plancher est donc abaissé, car l’eau exerce une pression sur les fondations. C’est ici qu’entre en jeu l’intégration d’une membrane drainante intérieure pour canaliser les potentielles infiltrations et préserver les murs mitoyens et les murs extérieurs.
Votre maison est-elle construite sur un sol argileux?
Au Québec particulièrement, il n’est pas rare que les maisons soient construites sur ce type de sol, lequel s’avère être un facteur de risque pour le bon déroulement des travaux en raison du fait qu’il se compresse facilement. De ce fait, la RBQ recommande de faire appel à un spécialiste en géothermie ou en laboratoire du sol afin d’évaluer la pression à laquelle le sol peut être soumis.
Attention aux solives
Autre point important à mentionner : les solives de votre maison ne doivent jamais entrer en contact avec le sol excavé. Si cela arrive, l’humidité du sol risque fortement d’entraîner le pourrissement des poutres, ce qui exigera de faire des travaux supplémentaires. D’ailleurs, l’aération de votre vide sanitaire devrait également être une priorité afin de réduire le taux d’humidité ambiant.
