En bref, le rôle d’un charpentier-menuisier est de construire, d’ériger ou de réparer une construction (généralement en aggloméré, en acier ou en bois). De plus, celui-ci s’occupe des tâches suivantes :
- Pose de portes, de moulures et d’escaliers ;
- Préparation de plans pour des clients ;
- Installation de poutres de plancher ;
- Pose du support de revêtement de sol ;

Quel type de charpente pour votre nouvelle maison?
La charpente en bois
Si choisir une charpente en bois peut inspirer certaines craintes par rapport à sa résistance, il n’en demeure pas moins que ce matériau a passé l’épreuve du temps. Le bois d’ingénierie notamment, est reconnu pour sa grande résistance et se porte bien aux constructions de grandes dimensions.
Très bon isolant (en comparaison avec le béton et l’acier), ce matériau écologique permet aux charpentiers de réaliser plus rapidement un projet qui l’implique en raison du caractère modulable de ses constructions.
Malheureusement, le bois requiert l’application d’un traitement avant son utilisation, ce qui fait en sorte que sa composition renferme des produits pouvant avoir un effet néfaste sur la santé. Sensible à l’humidité, il est également naturellement moins résistant au feu.
